Fujifilm announces launch of new CTP plate production line

FUJIFILM Corporation (President & CEO: Shigetaka Komori) will launch a new CTP plate production line that incorporates advanced technology and energy-saving equipment to meet the growing demand for offset CTP plates. The production of the line was launched in early January 2012 at FUJIFILM Manufacturing Europe BV (Netherlands), one of the company’s four main production bases for the production of printed products. With the digitization of the platemaking process, the printing market has seen a surge in demand for CTP plates, which allow digital text and image data to be transferred directly to plates without the use of film. With the growing awareness of environmental protection, the industry is actively looking for environmentally friendly products such as untreated CTP plates, which do not require processing and therefore generate no waste water, and low chemical CTP plates, which reduce waste liquid waste to simplify processing. The new production line, launched in January, uses Multigrain V technology, Fujifilm’s patented surface treatment technology, which ensures stable production of CTP plates with excellent durability and high-definition image reproduction capability. It also supports the production of no-process CTP plates and low chemical CTP plates that require advanced manufacturing technologies. The new line is also equipped with Fujifilm’s Cogenerative Thermal Oxidation (CTO) system, which combines the exhaust combustion unit and the previously independent natural gas cogeneration unit into one unit to further improve waste heat utilization. Since the waste heat generated by the flue gas incineration device can be efficiently reused to generate the energy needed for the new production line (electricity, steam, hot and cold water), the system improves the waste heat utilization rate by 11%, reducing annual CO2 emissions by approximately for 5500 tons. FUJIFILM Manufacturing Europe BV has five wind turbines that can generate up to 2 megawatts of electricity. Electricity generated by wind turbines currently accounts for about 20% of the power plant’s electricity consumption, in an active effort to reduce the plant’s environmental footprint. As a leading company in the field of printing materials and platemaking equipment, Fujifilm has developed, manufactured and introduced a wide range of products, including offset film, CTP plates, PS plates, prepress software, and film plate making machines. on a global scale for many years marketing. It will continue to further expand and develop the graphics systems business as one of its core business activities, contributing to the development of the global printing industry.
