Review: Whoopie Pie-Inspired Spiced Carrot Cake Thumper at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Walt Disney World has released three treats inspired by the latest line of Munchlings, including whooping cough pies featuring Thumper Plush spicy carrot cake. But if you thought this appetizer looked familiar, you were right.
The Angel Açai Bowl from Disney’s Blizzard Beach bears a strong resemblance to the plush toy of the same name, and the almond-vanilla sweetcorn tortilla bears at least a resemblance to the Elote Donald plush game plush.
However, from the looks of it, it’s a bit over the top, and it’s actually a carrot cake cookie. It is available at the usual location at the Trolley Car Cafe. The plush toy is available in a Mystery Garden Goodness box.
It was simply renamed to a temporary logo, and even the label on the package still says “Carrot Cake Cookies”.
Although it is based on Munchling’s spicy carrot cake, it does not contain any spices. It’s very sweet, as you can imagine, but also very moist.
The carrot cake was so wet that it ended up being sticky, so when you held it in your hands, the top layer of the cake stuck to your fingers.
Because the carrot cake is refrigerated and the frosting is cold, you can let it sit for a few minutes to soften it up.
It doesn’t have the overwhelming cream cheese feel that the carrot cake that we prefer usually has. Portions are generous, big enough to share.
It is neither there nor there, if the mood is high, we get it again, but it does not bother us. It also doesn’t have a time limit like other treats; it’s just a renamed pastry that bears little resemblance to Thumper Munchling’s spicy carrot cake.
